Time Suck

So I realize that blogging can waste hours and hours of time, but I've discovered a more worthless time suck lately... MYSPACE. Beyond the idiocy of posting intimate pictures and details out there for the entire world to see and then being surprised that your employer looks at them, the whole idea seems to be stupid to me. Let's all create a bullshit online persona so we can strut around and make no sense. Maybe I'm showing my age or generation (GO GEN X), but come on, spend your time doing something better. Watch classic TV and learn who the Fonz is. Discover that the past has some relevant cultural touchpoints and that you're not the center of the universe. Just stop living in that little bubble you've created.

My Wife is Trying to Take Over My Blog

My lovely wife doesn't like that she has to cut and paste links within the blog, and since the blogger thingy doesn't work, wants to teach me how to post links. (She just gave me the IT lecture about not being able to teach me properly because I'm on the Mac right now instead of the PC)...

Now I'm hearing the boycott sites that don't support Mac thing again. While I like the Mac, it really is a pain in the ass. I don't care what anyone says it's slower, less stable, takes longer to boot up and crashes ALL the time!!!! She said it would be solved with new memory but it's been like this since we took it out of the box. I think the Mac is better thing is a myth that's all about the interface.

So here is a link for you... How about I post a link to the creepy Gen Y web tracking big brother think Delicious?

Evil Gen Y Tracking Site

My wife is not a bad IT teacher. She didn't do the IT lean once. :)

Just remember, don't use this site. It might look cool but do you really want your web surfing to be tracked that easily? Why make Big Brother's job easy for him???

Begging Children

I swear, the kids are getting worse and worse at dressing up and begging. Come on, it's not like you have to do this more than once a year! The costumes were fair (especially on the older kids). I had a few girls show up in jeans and say they were fashion models.

Beyond that, no one said Trick or Treat. A few did, and I can't fault the tiny tiny children who are unable to do more than grunt and fart. The best were the kids who tried to scare me, at least they were in the spirit of it.

I promise, I won't complain about almost running out of candy. Shannon saved the day with a creative solution and we made it through. Plus we had more kids this year than last year. There must have been 100. There were hordes of kids and parents in the street.

Gripe of October
I don't mind parents driving kids to our neighborhood (it's a safe place to Trick or Treat), I just don't think that once you're in the neighborhood mom and dad should get to drive you around to maximize your candy. RUN! Hustle from house to house. I want to see those little bastards work for it. I can respect that. And that idiot Dianne Sawyer wonders why kids are fat these days.
