So those who know me know that I think Gimme Shelter is the perfect rock song. None better has been made in my opinion. It sweats this gritty, sexy, dark, and evil mood. However, I've been listening to Exile on Main Street a lot lately and Loving Cup off of that album is entering my top 5 songs. It's the opposite of Gimme Shelter. Loving Cup is the love song full of hope and longing. The love song looking at the world as a place of possibility and thrills during the chase. Plus it has a great bridge.
